‘patriotic’ history!!! The Betsy Ross closed in
2007 and, after a 2 year total renovation, reopened its
doors in April 2009 as the luxurious Betsy Hotel.
It stands out from all the other properties because of its
stately and elegant Georgian façade and inviting Southern
charm. If she were alive today, Betsy Ross would
have been proud of this magnificent transformation!!!
The Betsy
is colonial with a tropical, South Beach twist!
There are wooden, plantation shutters throughout, beautiful
potted palms and floor to ceiling windows allowing natural
light to continually cascade in. With a nod to style,
substance and fine cuisine, BLT Steak is their
signature restaurant and getting a reservation at this
popular spot is a challenge. For Sunday brunch, people fly
in from other cities just to experience their BLT

All of the
63 rooms and suites at The Betsy are private
beachside havens wrapped in exquisite detail from the dark
walnut hardwood floors and white lacquer cabinets to the
custom-built 4 poster beds and raffia covered ceilings.
The Thasos and Carrera marble baths feature
apothecary bath amenities from Malin+Goetz and
bespoke design bathroom vanities incorporated with oversized
mirrors, high-definition LCD TV’s and Bose
sound systems. Aside from an overstocked mini-bar, there’s
a bath bar; aside from an extensive, 24 hour room-service
menu, there’s a pillow menu and aside from the ‘usual’
chocolate placed on your pillow each night, there’s an
eco-friendly bookmark which can be taken home and planted to
produce a bouquet of flowers!
The Betsy
pool terrace is a lovely way to spend the day, but, on June
15, a state-of-the-art Fitness Center and a full service Spa
with a rooftop solarium and breathtaking ocean views are
scheduled to open....some things are definitely worth the
wait!
